Vacation Fun — An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie will temporarily close at Disney's Hollywood Studios beginning October 28, 2026. Disney has not announced a reopening date or a reason for the closure.
And yes, this theater only reopened on September 28. Mickey Shorts Theater has become one of Hollywood Studios' most restless little rooms, and a one-month return before another closure is exactly the sort of detail that vanishes from a plan until someone is looking at a locked door.
That was a very short return engagement
WDWMAGIC reports that October 27 is the final confirmed day to catch Vacation Fun before the closure. The short film sits beside Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, but the reported closure applies to Vacation Fun and Mickey Shorts Theater—not the neighboring attraction.
This will be the theater's fourth closure in under a year, according to the source. That history is doing useful work here: October 28 is firm, while any guessed-at return date deserves the same skeptical eyebrow Pete gives a runaway locomotive.
Jollywood is a clue, not a confirmation
The timing resembles 2025, when the theater closed from late October through late December and became a Disney Jollywood Nights merchandise location. Another holiday-event use is certainly plausible, but Disney has not confirmed that explanation for 2026.
WDWMAGIC says the closure could continue into early January if last year's pattern repeats. That is informed speculation, not an announced reopening window. October 27 is the last confirmed performance; after that, Mickey's vacation calendar is blank.
