What Rope Drop Hero is, where it fits, and how to get started.
What is Rope Drop Hero?
Rope Drop Hero is a planning and park-day companion for Walt Disney World guests. It creates a personalized plan around your group, can book an eligible Lightning Lane return time and modify it when authorized, alerts you when a chosen ride or dining condition matches, and helps with waits, maps, and practical planning questions.
It does not replace Disney or My Disney Experience. Disney remains the owner of tickets, reservations, payments, entitlements, and official confirmation.
Who is Rope Drop Hero for?
It is for families, couples, and groups who want a calmer way to plan a Disney day. It is especially useful when one person is tired of being the household scheduler, checking for openings, and rebuilding the plan every time the park changes.
You do not need to be a Disney expert. Start with the attractions, dining plans, pace, and priorities your group already knows, and Rope Drop Hero turns those choices into a more usable plan.
Is Rope Drop Hero an app or a planning service?
Rope Drop Hero is a mobile app for iPhone and Android that creates a personalized park plan, alerts you when selected ride or dining conditions match, supports eligible Lightning Lane booking and modifications when authorized, and provides maps and park-day guidance. It is not a travel agency, and it does not take ownership of your Disney account or your reservations.
The app can watch the signals you configure and prepare the next step. When Disney requires your approval, payment, authentication, or confirmation, the action stays with you inside Disney or My Disney Experience.
Is Rope Drop Hero available now?
Rope Drop Hero is currently collecting early-access interest through the website waitlist. Join the waitlist for launch updates and access information rather than assuming that its Apple App Store and Google Play listings are open to everyone.
We will describe general availability separately from early access. A waitlist signup does not create an account, activate a subscription, or connect a Disney trip.
How do I join the waitlist or request early access?
Use the waitlist form on the Rope Drop Hero website and enter an email address you check. We use it for early-access and launch communication, not as a substitute for the in-app setup flow.
When access opens, follow the instructions in the invitation. You will still choose your trip, party, permissions, and notification settings inside the app.
Which parks does Rope Drop Hero support?
Rope Drop Hero is built for the four Walt Disney World parks in Florida: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom.
The app can use park, attraction, dining, timing, and trip context across a Walt Disney World visit. Support for a different resort is not implied by the Walt Disney World feature set.
Is Rope Drop Hero available on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The iPhone and Android versions launch together, so your group can use Rope Drop Hero without choosing a trip captain based on which phone they carry.
Each person still controls notification permission and other device settings on their own phone. App availability begins when Rope Drop Hero is released through the Apple App Store and Google Play; joining the waitlist does not activate an account or subscription.
Does Rope Drop Hero replace the My Disney Experience app?
No. Rope Drop Hero creates and adapts your plan, can handle eligible Lightning Lane booking and modifications when authorized, and alerts you when selected ride or dining conditions match. My Disney Experience remains the official place for Disney account access, payment, tickets, entitlements, and final reservation confirmation.
You can use both apps during the same trip. If you take an action in My Disney Experience, Rope Drop Hero treats the updated Disney state as the source that matters for the connected trip.
Plans & Billing
Choose the level of planning, alerts, and supported automation that fits your trip.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan gives you the planning foundation before you pay for expanded alerts or automation.
It includes live wait times, restaurant browsing, a 180-day crowd calendar, and Quest Builder with three lifetime Quest creations. Each Quest includes one manual edit; AI-assisted rewrites use your Free Park Ranger allowance. Adventurer adds live Lightning Lane availability, Dining Scout watches and alerts, a 365-day crowd calendar, and group tools. Hero and Starlight add Lightning Lane watches, alerts, booking, and modifications, with more guidance and capacity by tier.
What is included in the Free plan?
Free includes live wait times, a 180-day crowd calendar, restaurant browsing, and Quest Builder with three lifetime Quest creations. You get one manual edit per Quest. AI-assisted rewrites are separate and use your Park Ranger allowance.
Free does not include live Lightning Lane availability, Lightning Lane alerts, Dining Scout alerts, or booking automation. It gives you planning tools and current wait-time context, but Disney inventory is never reserved for you.
What does Adventurer add?
Adventurer adds live Lightning Lane availability so you can browse current return times, plus Dining Scout watches and push alerts for matching restaurant openings. It also includes a 365-day crowd calendar, more Park Ranger questions, and more planning capacity than Free.
It does not include Lightning Lane watches or alerts, and it does not include Lightning Lane booking or modifications. Dining Scout alerts you when a restaurant opening matches your watch, then hands you to Disney to review and complete the reservation.
What does Hero add?
Hero adds eligible Lightning Lane booking and modifications you authorize, more dining-opening support, live planning guidance, and post-trip review on top of the lower tiers.
Automation still follows the action's permission, eligibility, consent, freshness, and Disney handoff requirements. The Hero plan does not turn a dining alert into unattended checkout.
What does Starlight Concierge add?
Starlight Concierge is the highest subscription tier. It adds Starlight, the decision layer for an active personalized park plan, along with morning guidance, an evening recap, multi-day planning help, and the capabilities included in Hero.
It is designed for guests who want help carrying the whole trip context, not just one alert. If a recommendation would change a Disney reservation, purchase, entitlement, account setting, or another guest's plan, Rope Drop Hero asks you to approve it or sends you to the Disney-owned screen to finish.
Which plan is right for my trip?
Choose Free if you mainly want wait times, crowd context, restaurant browsing, and up to three lifetime Quest creations. Choose Adventurer if live Lightning Lane availability and Dining Scout alerts are the main relief. Choose Hero when Lightning Lane watches, alerts, booking, and modifications matter. Choose Starlight when you want the highest-tier decision support and capacity for an active plan across several days.
The right plan is the one that matches how much watching and decision support you want. No plan guarantees inventory or removes Disney's own rules.
Is there a free trial?
Any introductory offer, including its eligibility and duration, is shown by the Apple App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase. Review the store's purchase screen before confirming a subscription.
If a trial applies, the purchase screen shows when the paid subscription begins. Use the app or the subscription controls for the store where you subscribed before renewal if you do not want it to continue.
Can I cancel or change plans?
Yes. You can manage or cancel your subscription through the app or the subscription controls for the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you subscribed.
Canceling a Rope Drop Hero subscription is separate from canceling a Disney dining reservation, Lightning Lane, ticket, or other Disney entitlement. Those actions remain governed by Disney and must be handled in the appropriate official flow.
What happens to my trip data if I cancel?
Canceling stops the subscription renewal and paid feature access according to the active billing period. It does not automatically mean that every account or trip record is deleted.
If you want your account and personal trip data removed, use the account deletion or privacy support path. Disney connection removal and Rope Drop Hero account deletion are separate actions, so confirm both when that is your intent.
Are subscriptions refundable?
Refund requests are handled under the policies of the store that processed your Rope Drop Hero subscription. Rope Drop Hero does not promise a separate automatic refund for unused time.
Do not confuse a subscription refund with a Disney cancellation, no-show, deposit, or prepaid decision. Those terms belong to the Disney or reservation provider flow.
Permissions & Privacy
Understand what you share, what stays private, and where Disney remains in control.
Why does Rope Drop Hero use Disney Friends & Family?
Friends & Family is Disney's existing way to share trip-planning access with people you choose. Rope Drop Hero uses that permission model so it can work with the guests and entitlements you intentionally connect without asking for your Disney password.
You choose who is connected and what planning support you want to use. Rope Drop Hero acts only within the authorization and consent available for that specific trip and action.
What does Friends & Family authorization allow Rope Drop Hero to see?
It can expose the guest and trip-planning information that Disney makes available through the connection you approve. That can include connected guests, relevant eligibility, and planning state needed for supported Lightning Lane or trip features.
The exact information is controlled by Disney's account and delegation surfaces. Rope Drop Hero does not treat a Friends & Family connection as permission to see your Disney password, raw payment details, or every private account detail.
Do you store my Disney password?
No. Rope Drop Hero does not ask you to hand over your Disney password or keep a password vault for it.
The connection is permission-based. If Disney requires you to sign in again, complete MFA, or respond to a security prompt, you do that in the Disney-owned flow.
Can Rope Drop Hero see my Disney payment card?
No. A Friends & Family connection is not the same as access to your Disney account payment method.
Rope Drop Hero does not need your saved card details to monitor a trip or prepare an alert. Any payment information used for a Disney purchase or reservation stays in the Disney or My Disney Experience checkout that you control.
Can Rope Drop Hero enter my card number or CVC?
No. Rope Drop Hero does not collect or enter raw card numbers, CVC or CVV codes, or billing details for Disney reservations.
If a Disney flow requires payment, the app stops at a user-owned handoff. You decide whether to continue, accept the terms, and confirm the transaction inside the official checkout.
Can Rope Drop Hero solve a CAPTCHA, MFA prompt, or security challenge?
No. Rope Drop Hero does not solve, outsource, or bypass Disney CAPTCHA, MFA, device verification, security checks, or suspicious-activity prompts.
When one appears, the automation stops and the app tells you that direct action is required. Complete the check in the Disney-owned flow if you choose to continue, then return to Rope Drop Hero when the connection is healthy.
Can I review or revoke permissions?
Yes. Review the connection in the relevant Disney Friends & Family settings and remove access when you no longer want Rope Drop Hero connected.
You can also stop individual watches and disable Rope Drop Hero notifications in your phone's notification settings. Revoking a connection does not automatically cancel a Disney reservation or refund a Rope Drop Hero subscription.
What happens if the wrong Disney account, party, or session is connected?
Rope Drop Hero stops before a risky action when the account, party, eligibility, or session does not match the request.
The app explains whether the action is blocked because the details do not match, challenged because Disney needs a login or security check, or expired because the session is no longer current. It tells you which step needs your attention. Confirm the connected account and party in the Disney-owned flow before creating another watch or approving an action.
Is Rope Drop Hero affiliated with or endorsed by Disney?
No. Rope Drop Hero is an independent planning app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Walt Disney Company.
References to Disney parks, attractions, restaurants, and My Disney Experience identify the services the app helps you plan around. They do not create a business relationship or endorsement.
Does using Rope Drop Hero guarantee that Disney will accept an action?
No. Disney controls availability, eligibility, account security, rate limits, park rules, and the final result of every Disney-owned action.
Rope Drop Hero can watch the signals you configure and follow the permission and consent available for the action. It cannot manufacture inventory or promise that Disney will accept a booking, modification, or reservation.
Lightning Lane Booking & Modifications
Choose the attraction, guests, and return times that work. Rope Drop Hero can book an eligible time and, when authorized, keep checking and modify the booking if a better match appears.
How do Lightning Lane booking and modifications work?
Rope Drop Hero can book an eligible Lightning Lane return time for the attraction and guests you choose. If you authorize it, the app can keep checking after that booking and modify it when a better qualifying time appears. You also choose the trip, return-time preferences, action, and search duration that apply.
Depending on your settings and plan, the next step can be an alert, an approval request, a booking, or a modification. Disney controls eligibility, available return times, and final confirmation, and Rope Drop Hero does not purchase a Lightning Lane pass or guarantee inventory.
Explore Lightning Lane bookingWhat can I ask Rope Drop Hero to watch?
You can ask it to watch Lightning Lane targets that are available to the connected guests and supported by the current trip and Disney state. The useful details are the attraction, date, party, target window, and whether you want an alert or an authorized action.
If a guest is not eligible, the pass type does not match, or the data is stale, Rope Drop Hero shows that constraint instead of pretending the target is ready.
What happens when a Lightning Lane opening appears?
Rope Drop Hero checks the opening against your selected attraction, time preferences, guest eligibility, party, current authorization, and action settings. It then either sends the alert you requested, asks for approval, prepares a handoff, or takes the specifically authorized supported action.
An opening is an opportunity, not a guarantee. The time can disappear, the party can become ineligible, or Disney can require direct action before the result is confirmed.
What control options do I have for Lightning Lane actions?
First choose the action. "Notify me" sends an alert so you handle the booking or change. "Auto-book when available" lets Rope Drop Hero, on eligible supported plans, attempt the qualifying booking you authorized.
Then choose the search duration. "Notify once" stops after the first qualifying result is reported. "Until window met" keeps checking until a return time fits your preferred window. "Keep searching" remains active until paused; with auto-modification explicitly authorized, it continues after an eligible booking and modifies that selection if a better qualifying time appears. The action and duration choices work together. Your consent, guest eligibility, and current availability still apply, and Disney confirms the result.
Does Rope Drop Hero book Lightning Lanes automatically?
Eligible Lightning Lane automation is available on supported plans and only for actions you have explicitly authorized. Rope Drop Hero does not make every Lightning Lane decision for you or claim that every action can run unattended.
Before an action can proceed, the app must have the right party, current eligibility, valid authorization, fresh availability, and a supported action path. If any of those conditions fail, it alerts, pauses, or hands control back to you.
Compare Lightning Lane appsWhat must I approve before Rope Drop Hero can act?
You approve what Rope Drop Hero may do and the trip, attraction, guests, and timing that apply. Choose whether the app should "Notify me" or "Auto-book when available," and whether it should "Notify once," continue "Until window met," or "Keep searching."
A change affecting another guest, a purchase, reservation, account setting, or other higher-risk decision may need one-time approval or a handoff to the Disney-owned screen. Your approval applies only to the action you reviewed, not a different party, time, cost, reservation, or future action.
Can I use alert-only mode instead of automation?
Yes. Alert-only mode is the right choice when you want Rope Drop Hero to watch the target and tell you when it is worth opening My Disney Experience yourself.
You remain responsible for the booking or modification. This mode is also useful when the target is preference-sensitive, affects several guests, or needs a decision that belongs in your hands.
Can I choose different Lightning Lane targets for different people?
Yes, when the connected party and Disney eligibility support the selection. Each watch can use the guests who need that attraction or return time rather than assuming the whole group must move together.
The app surfaces conflicts or ineligible guests before action. You decide whether to keep the party together, split the plan, or use an alert instead.
Can I create more than one Lightning Lane watch?
Yes, subject to the limits of your plan and the current trip. Multiple watches let you prioritize more than one attraction or create a practical sequence for different parts of the day.
More watches do not create more inventory. If two targets compete for the same guests or timing, the app shows the conflict so you can decide which one matters more.
How many guests can be included in one Lightning Lane action?
The number depends on your plan, the connected party, the action type, and the guests Disney currently shows as eligible. Rope Drop Hero shows the supported limit and the selected guests before an action is approved.
If Disney cannot support the full group for the chosen target, the safe answer is to adjust the party intentionally or use separate watches. The app never implies that every party member will receive the same return time.
Can I split a larger party across multiple searches?
Yes, when the trip and plan allow it. Separate watches can be useful when different guests have different priorities or when one large group is not eligible for the same opportunity.
Each search is its own decision. Return times, availability, and outcomes can differ, so review the party and timing on each watch before approving it.
Can I use Rope Drop Hero while park hopping?
Yes, for trip planning and supported monitoring across a Walt Disney World day. You can watch a target for a later park while your group is still enjoying an earlier one.
Any action still depends on the correct park, date, admission, eligibility, party, and current Disney rules. Park hopping does not bypass Disney's booking windows or create a Lightning Lane where one is unavailable.
Can Rope Drop Hero book Lightning Lanes for a future park day?
Yes. Rope Drop Hero supports Lightning Lane booking and modifications for a future park day, not only the day you enter the park. Select the future date, park, guests, attraction, and return-time preferences that should guide the request.
When the request is eligible to run, Rope Drop Hero checks Disney eligibility and current inventory before attempting the action you authorized. Disney controls the booking window, available return times, and final confirmation, so a saved request is not a guaranteed booking.
Can I continue booking Lightning Lanes manually in My Disney Experience?
Yes. Rope Drop Hero and My Disney Experience can be used together.
If you make a booking or change in My Disney Experience, Rope Drop Hero reconciles the connected state, stops a duplicate watch when it recognizes the matching outcome, or asks you to resolve the difference when the match is unclear.
What happens if I book the same Lightning Lane myself?
The app recognizes the updated Disney state and stops or closes a watch that is no longer needed. If it cannot safely match the booking to the watch, it leaves the action visible for you to review rather than guessing.
You can also stop the watch yourself. A manual booking in My Disney Experience remains the confirmed Disney result.
What happens after my party taps into an attraction?
Rope Drop Hero checks the connected state again before looking for another eligible opportunity. Once the guests are eligible for another selection, the next watch can resume according to your settings and plan limits.
The app is not meant to refresh faster than every other guest. Deliberate pacing protects your account and keeps the system from turning the park day into a speed contest.
Can I cancel a watch?
Yes. Stop an active Lightning Lane watch from the watch controls when you find a better option, change your plan, or no longer want the app looking for that target.
Stopping a watch does not cancel a Lightning Lane that Disney already confirmed. Manage the confirmed Disney booking in My Disney Experience when you need to change or cancel it.
Can Rope Drop Hero change or cancel a Lightning Lane already booked?
Only when the specific supported action is authorized, eligible, and available in the current Disney flow. A watch does not automatically grant permission to change every booking in your itinerary.
If the action affects a paid product, another guest, or a Disney-owned rule, the app may require approval or a foreground handoff. My Disney Experience remains the place to confirm the final result.
Can Rope Drop Hero book Lightning Lane Single Pass?
No. Rope Drop Hero does not currently automate Single Pass booking. Use My Disney Experience for Single Pass purchase and confirmation.
The app may provide trip context or recommendations where supported, but a recommendation is not a purchase and the guest remains responsible for the Disney checkout.
What happens if the return window is missed?
The return-window rules shown by Disney control what happens next. Rope Drop Hero cannot restore a missed window or guarantee that the same attraction will be available again that day.
Check My Disney Experience for the current booking status and any options Disney offers. The app can help you adjust the rest of the plan around what Disney confirms.
What happens when no eligible Lightning Lane is available?
The watch stays honest about the result: no matching opportunity is available right now. Rope Drop Hero can continue monitoring when the watch is active, or it can suggest a nearby or lower-conflict alternative when the product has enough current context to do so.
It does not invent a return time, hold unavailable inventory, or claim success because a search ran.
What happens if Disney requires a login, MFA, CAPTCHA, or security check?
Rope Drop Hero stops the action and marks it as challenged or user action required. It does not solve the check, retry around it, or ask you to share the credential or code.
If you choose to continue, complete the prompt in Disney or My Disney Experience. Reconnect only after the account state is clear and the app tells you that the next action is safe to review.
Will I receive a notification when a Lightning Lane action needs me?
You can receive push notifications for supported Lightning Lane alerts and steps that need your attention when notifications are allowed on your phone.
Notifications are a signal, not confirmation by themselves. Open Rope Drop Hero or My Disney Experience to review the current state and confirm whether the opportunity still exists.
Ride Radar
Choose a ride and the condition that would make it worth another look. Rope Drop Hero alerts you when current park data matches it.
What is Ride Radar?
Ride Radar is a day-of ride alert system that watches conditions across one active park. You must opt in by turning Ride Radar on, then you can choose whether to hear about sharp wait increases, temporary closures, and reopenings.
Rope Drop Hero applies those choices to supported attractions in the active park and sends a push notification when current data matches. Ride Radar helps you decide whether to change course; it does not hold or reserve a place in line, and conditions can change before you arrive.
How does Ride Radar choose which park to watch?
Ride Radar watches one active park at a time. It uses location first when your phone can tell that you are inside a supported park. If you are outside the parks or location is unavailable, it falls back to the selected park you chose in Rope Drop Hero.
Selecting or browsing another park does not override a park detected from your current location. If Rope Drop Hero has neither a detected park nor a selected park, automatic alerts pause until one is available. Ride Radar shares only the active park needed for alerts, never your precise location or movement history.
What automatic alerts can Ride Radar send?
Ride Radar can alert you about sharp wait increases, temporary closures, and reopenings. You can enable each alert type independently, so you decide which changes are useful during your park day.
Each enabled type applies to all supported attractions in the active park. The notification names the attraction and what changed, but it is still a current-data signal rather than a promise that the posted wait or operating status will remain the same.
How do sharp wait-increase alerts work?
Sharp wait-increase alerts tell you when a posted wait rises by at least 20 minutes within 15 minutes. Turn that automatic alert type on once, and Ride Radar applies it across supported attractions in the active park.
The alert is meant to make a meaningful shift visible before you walk toward a ride or commit the rest of the group. It does not predict how long the wait will stay elevated, and Disney's current posted wait remains the live source to review before changing plans.
Will Ride Radar tell me when a ride closes or reopens?
Yes. Enable temporary-closure alerts, reopening alerts, or both. Ride Radar can tell you when a supported attraction in the active park changes from operating to temporarily closed and when it begins operating again.
Ride operations can change again quickly, especially after a reopening. Use the notification as a reason to check the current attraction state, walking time, and your group's pace before crossing the park.
Do my favorite attractions get Ride Radar alerts automatically?
Yes. Favorite attractions are included automatically when they are in your active park and the matching automatic alert type is enabled. You do not need to create separate closure, reopening, or sharp-increase settings for each favorite.
Favoriting a ride does not turn Ride Radar on, and it does not make another park active. Favorites remain your saved attractions; the Ride Radar master switch, active park, and alert-type choices still control notification delivery.
Can I set my own wait-time alert for an attraction?
Yes. You can add an optional personalized wait threshold to a specific attraction when you want an alert below a number that matters to your group. The Ride Radar master switch must be on, but the attraction does not have to be a favorite.
That threshold is separate from the three automatic park-wide alert types and expires at the next Orlando midnight. It reports the latest supported posted wait; it does not reserve a place in line or guarantee that the wait will still be below your threshold when you arrive.
Do I have to configure every attraction?
No. Turn on the automatic alert types you want, and Ride Radar applies them to all supported attractions in the active park. Your favorites are included automatically without another Ride Radar setup step.
Per-attraction setup is only for an optional personalized below-wait threshold. This keeps the everyday setup simple while still giving you control when one ride has a specific wait limit for your group.
How long does Ride Radar stay on?
The Ride Radar master switch stays on until you turn it off, and your automatic alert-type choices persist with it. Turning the master switch off stops all Ride Radar notifications without deleting your favorites or saved alert-type choices.
Personalized attraction thresholds follow a shorter park-day lifecycle: each threshold expires at the next Orlando midnight. Save the threshold again on another park day only if you still want that specific below-wait alert.
What happens if location or notifications are turned off?
If location is turned off or unavailable, Ride Radar uses your selected park as the fallback. If there is no selected park, automatic park alerts pause until you choose one. Turning off location never turns Ride Radar on, and Rope Drop Hero does not store or send your precise location for this feature.
If notifications are turned off, you can still configure Ride Radar, but your phone cannot deliver its push alerts. Open the device's notification settings on iPhone or Android and allow Rope Drop Hero notifications before relying on them in the park.
Why did I not receive a Ride Radar alert?
First check that Ride Radar is on, the correct active park is shown, the relevant automatic alert type is enabled, and notification permission is allowed for Rope Drop Hero. If you expected a personalized below-wait alert, also confirm that its threshold has not expired.
Rope Drop Hero does not create a new alert from stale park data, and duplicate alerts for the same ride event are intentionally suppressed. A brief service or connectivity issue can also delay delivery, while the attraction's wait or operating state may change again before you open the notification.
Dining Scout
Choose a restaurant, date, party size, and time window. Rope Drop Hero alerts you when a dining opening matches and hands you to Disney to complete the reservation.
What is Dining Scout?
Dining Scout is a dining-availability alert and booking handoff. Choose the restaurant, date, party size, and time window that work for your group. When a matching opening appears, Rope Drop Hero alerts you and opens the Disney reservation flow for you to review and complete.
Dining Scout does not reserve a table or complete the reservation for you. Disney controls the live opening, any payment or terms, and final confirmation.
Explore Disney dining alertsWhat dining details can I ask Dining Scout to watch?
Choose the restaurant or restaurants, date, party size, and acceptable time window. Dining Scout uses those choices as the criteria for a dining-opening alert and booking handoff.
The more precise your target, the fewer openings may match. A wider time window or a nearby alternative can give you more practical options when the perfect table is scarce.
Can I set a restaurant, date, party size, and time window?
Yes. Choose the restaurant or restaurants, date, party size, and acceptable time window for your group. Dining Scout alerts you only when an available opening matches those choices.
Review the party size carefully before saving. A table for four is not a match for a group of six, and a time that works for the restaurant may not work for your Lightning Lane, show, or park-hop plan.
What happens when Dining Scout finds an opening?
Dining Scout sends an alert and can prepare a fast handoff into Disney or My Disney Experience. You open the handoff, review the details, and complete the official reservation flow yourself.
The opening may be claimed before you finish. Rope Drop Hero records the outcome you confirm rather than calling an alert a reservation.
Does Dining Scout send an alert or make the reservation for me?
Dining Scout sends a dining-opening alert and prepares the booking handoff, but you complete and confirm the reservation in Disney or My Disney Experience.
That distinction matters. An alert means an opening matched your watch. A confirmed Disney reservation means you completed the official flow and verified the result.
Compare Dining Scout and MouseDiningCan Dining Scout complete a dining reservation without me?
No. Dining Scout does not currently complete a dining reservation without your action.
You remain present for Disney authentication, payment, cancellation or no-show terms, any deposit or prepaid condition, and the final confirmation. The app is there to watch and get you to the right screen quickly.
Can Dining Scout enter payment details or accept cancellation terms?
No. Dining Scout does not collect or enter card numbers, CVC or CVV codes, or billing details for a Disney dining reservation. It also does not accept cancellation, no-show, deposit, or prepaid terms for you.
If Disney asks for one of those decisions, the flow stops at a user-owned handoff. Read the terms and confirm the purchase or reservation inside Disney or My Disney Experience.
What does a prepared handoff to Disney or My Disney Experience mean?
A prepared handoff means Dining Scout found a dining opening that matches your restaurant, date, party size, and time window and opened the next step in the Disney-owned flow.
It is not a held table and not a completed booking. Disney controls the live opening, checkout, payment, policy acceptance, and final confirmation after you leave Rope Drop Hero.
What do I need to confirm after Dining Scout hands me to Disney?
Confirm the restaurant, date, time, party size, account, payment method, and any cancellation, no-show, deposit, or prepaid terms shown by Disney. Then confirm that Disney displays the completed reservation and keep the confirmation in the official itinerary.
Return to Rope Drop Hero and record the outcome when the app asks. That lets the trip context distinguish a confirmed reservation from an opening that was missed or declined.
What happens if the dining slot disappears before I finish?
The handoff is marked as no longer available or missed, depending on where you were in the flow. Dining Scout does not keep submitting the same checkout path after Disney says the opening is gone.
If the watch remains active, it can return to monitoring for a new opening. You can also change the target or stop the watch when your plans have moved on.
What happens if Disney shows a deposit, prepaid, cancellation, or no-show warning?
Dining Scout surfaces the need for your direct action and does not accept the terms for you. Read the warning in Disney or My Disney Experience and decide whether the reservation fits your group and budget.
The reservation is not treated as booked until you confirm the Disney result. A matching opening is never permission to accept a fee or policy on someone else's behalf.
Can I stop or change a dining watch?
Yes. You can pause, resume, edit, or stop the dining-opening alert from its Dining Scout controls, subject to the current plan and trip state.
Changing a watch changes what Dining Scout looks for next. It does not change a dining reservation that Disney already confirmed, and it does not cancel a reservation unless you take that action in the official Disney flow.
Can Dining Scout book Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or another non-dining reservation?
No. Rope Drop Hero does not currently book Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or other non-dining reservation experiences.
Dining Scout's current job is to alert you when a supported dining opening matches and help you reach the official flow. Book other experiences directly through the service that owns them.
Why does Dining Scout say Auto-Book is unavailable?
It means the current Dining Scout release is intentionally limited to dining-opening alerts, prepared booking handoff, and user-confirmed outcomes. The app does not handle raw payment details, Disney credential entry, challenge resolution, or final reservation confirmation.
That message protects the boundary between a useful alert and a reservation decision that belongs to you. It is not an error and it does not mean the watch itself has stopped working.
What should I do if I do not receive a Dining Scout alert?
Check that the watch is active, the restaurant, date, party size, and time window are correct, and push notifications are allowed for Rope Drop Hero. Then check whether the target is still within its watch period or whether the signal became stale.
If the watch found an opening but no longer has a usable handoff, open Dining Scout for the current state. A missed alert should never be treated as a completed reservation.
Planning Tools
Use Quest Builder to turn your group's priorities into a personalized Quest, keep the active plan and current conditions together in Base Camp, ask Park Ranger planning questions, compare locations and routes in Magic Map, and use Starlight's higher-tier decision support when it is included in your plan. You still approve changes that affect Disney reservations, purchases, or another guest.
What does Quest Builder do?
Quest Builder creates a personalized park plan from your must-do attractions, dining plans, timing constraints, group needs, and preferred pace. Rope Drop Hero calls that plan a Quest. Base Camp is the park-day home screen for your active Quest, current conditions, readiness, and the tools you may need next.
The Quest is a starting point, not a commandment. You can review the route, change the plan, and use Base Camp to keep the parts that still fit your group visible during the day.
What information does Quest Builder use to shape a plan?
Quest Builder can use the trip details and preferences you provide, such as dates, parks, party composition, must-do attractions, dining plans, pacing, breaks, and timing constraints.
Better inputs create a more useful starting plan. If a reservation, park hour, wait time, or preference changes, review the affected part of the Quest instead of assuming the original route still fits.
Can I edit a Quest after it is created?
Yes. Your Quest is meant to remain editable as the trip takes shape.
Change priorities, timing, dining, party needs, or the pace of the day when something changes. Rope Drop Hero can help you understand the next move, but you decide whether the revised plan works for your group.
What does Park Ranger help me with?
Park Ranger is the planning assistant for practical Disney questions. Ask about rides, dining, waits, routes, show timing, party fit, or what to do next, and it uses the trip context available to the app to make the answer more useful.
It gives guidance, not official Disney confirmation. Check the Disney-owned source when the answer depends on live availability, account state, payment, or a reservation.
Does Park Ranger know my trip context?
Park Ranger can use the trip context you have provided and the live context available to Rope Drop Hero, such as your selected park, Quest, party needs, bookings, and current signals.
That context helps it avoid generic advice, but it is not perfect knowledge. If a detail is missing, stale, or ambiguous, the answer names that limitation and gives you a safe next step.
What does Magic Map show?
Magic Map is the park map and navigation view. It brings attractions, wait times, nearby options, and route-aware choices into one place where the relevant data is available.
It is built for the decision in front of you: stay nearby, move toward a shorter wait, protect a reservation, or adjust the next stop. It does not replace Disney's official map or guarantee that a route will remain unchanged.
Can Magic Map help with walking choices and nearby options?
Yes. Magic Map can help you compare nearby attractions and walking choices using the current trip and park context available to the app.
Walking guidance is a planning aid, not a promise about crowd movement, closures, accessibility conditions, or the exact time your group will take. Leave room for real people, weather, mobility needs, and the pace of your party.
What is Starlight Concierge?
Starlight is the highest-tier decision layer for an active Quest. It uses that personalized park plan, current conditions, fixed commitments, party needs, and your permissions to surface the next move that still fits the day. Starlight is included with the Starlight Concierge subscription tier.
It is for guests who want the whole trip held in context. It does not make Disney-owned decisions without the approval or handoff required for that action, and it does not turn unsupported actions into automation.
Meet Starlight ConciergeWhat are Morning Briefing and Evening Recap?
Morning Briefing gathers the details that matter before the day gets moving, such as current conditions, plan status, priorities, reservations, and the first practical move.
Evening Recap helps you understand what happened, what changed, and what may matter for the next day. Both are guidance surfaces, not official Disney itineraries or guarantees about tomorrow's inventory.
What does Live Trip Copilot do?
Live Trip Copilot is Starlight's live park-day guidance view. It uses the active Quest to connect waits, walking, weather, dining, Lightning Lane timing, reservations, and party pace into a more useful next decision as the day changes.
When a recommendation would change a reservation, purchase, entitlement, account, or another guest's plan, the app asks for approval or sends you to the owner of that action.
Does Rope Drop Hero make decisions without my approval?
It can provide read-only guidance and allowed notifications without asking you to approve every sentence. It does not silently make a paid, reservation, account, credential, payment, or party-impacting decision for you.
You choose whether Rope Drop Hero should notify you or attempt an authorized booking, plus how long it should keep checking. When an action needs your approval or must be completed in Disney, Rope Drop Hero tells you and sends you to the Disney-owned screen instead of treating your earlier choice as unlimited permission.
How does Rope Drop Hero handle uncertain or conflicting information?
It names the uncertainty, lowers its confidence, or stops the action when the signals do not agree or are no longer fresh enough. A stale wait time, unclear party eligibility, expired session, or conflicting reservation state is a reason to review, not a reason to guess.
You may still receive a softer suggestion when the information is useful but not decisive. The app explains what to verify before you act.
Alerts & Recovery
Know what to check when a signal, notification, session, or handoff changes.
Which notifications does Rope Drop Hero send?
Rope Drop Hero can send push notifications when an authorized Lightning Lane booking or modification needs attention, when current park data matches a Ride Radar condition you chose, when a Dining Scout opening matches, and when your action is required.
The notification tells you that a condition changed. Open the app or the Disney-owned flow to confirm the current details before treating an opportunity as booked or complete.
How do I enable or test notifications?
Allow notifications when Rope Drop Hero asks, then confirm that notifications are enabled for the app in your device settings. If the app offers a test notification, use it before your park day so you know the phone is receiving alerts.
Focus modes, scheduled summaries, low-power settings, weak connectivity, and an expired watch can all affect what you see. Notification permission does not change the underlying availability or booking result.
What should I check if an alert does not arrive?
Check the watch status, date, attraction or restaurant, party size, time window, and notification permission first. Then check whether the trigger actually occurred, the watch expired, the signal became stale, or the system already sent the alert.
If the app shows a challenged, blocked, expired, or no-longer-available state, follow that state instead of creating repeated duplicate watches. Contact support with the visible state and time if the problem continues.
What happens when an availability signal is stale?
Rope Drop Hero stops treating stale availability as safe for a higher-risk action. It can label the data as stale, refresh it when supported, or downgrade the result to information that needs your review.
Freshness matters because dining openings, Lightning Lane return times, waits, and closures can change while you are looking at them. The app tells you when the signal is old enough to affect the decision.
What happens when Disney signs me out or a session expires?
The affected watch or action becomes expired or user action required. Rope Drop Hero stops the dependent action and asks you to restore the Disney connection in the official flow before trying again.
It does not keep retrying with an expired session or treat an old confirmation as current. Once you reconnect, review the party and target again because availability may have changed.
What happens when a Disney challenge or security prompt appears?
The action becomes challenged and automation stops. You complete the login, MFA, CAPTCHA, device check, or security prompt directly in Disney or My Disney Experience if you choose to continue.
Rope Drop Hero does not solve or bypass the challenge. After the official flow is complete, confirm the connection and the requested action again rather than assuming the earlier attempt succeeded.
What happens when an opening disappears during handoff?
The result is marked no longer available or missed, depending on the state of the handoff. The app does not claim success, repeatedly submit the same checkout path, or keep a table or return time that Disney did not confirm.
If the watch is still active, it can return to monitoring. You can also widen the target, choose an alternative, or stop looking when the day has moved on.
Does Rope Drop Hero keep retrying after a blocked or challenged state?
No. A blocked, challenged, expired, payment-required, or ambiguous state is a stop condition for the affected action.
The app explains why it stopped and what you can do next. Silent retries would make it harder to know what happened and could put your account or reservation at risk.
What does “user action required” mean?
It means Rope Drop Hero has reached a step that belongs with you or with Disney's official flow. That can include approval, login, MFA, payment, cancellation terms, party confirmation, or final reservation confirmation.
Open the named action, review the details, and complete the required step where the app directs you. Until that happens, the action is not booked, paid, canceled, or confirmed.
Support & Limits
Set realistic expectations and find the right support route when you need help.
Does Rope Drop Hero guarantee a Lightning Lane, dining reservation, or other opening?
No. Rope Drop Hero can book or modify an eligible Lightning Lane selection when authorized, alert you when chosen ride or dining conditions match, and guide your next decision, but it cannot guarantee inventory that Disney has not made available.
Availability can change because of demand, closures, weather, park hours, guest eligibility, timing, or Disney system behavior. The app's job is to give you a better signal and a clearer next move, not to promise an outcome it does not control.
What happens if weather, closures, park hours, crowds, or guest interest change?
Rope Drop Hero can use new signals to suggest a route change, protect an important reservation, or explain why the original plan no longer fits. You decide whether to accept the recommendation and how much walking, waiting, or schedule change your group wants.
If a change affects a Disney-owned booking, paid action, entitlement, or another guest, the app keeps the decision with you and the official Disney flow.
Can I still use Disney's official apps and services?
Yes. Continue using Disney and My Disney Experience for official account access, tickets, payments, reservations, Lightning Lane confirmation, and any prompt that requires direct action.
Rope Drop Hero works alongside those services by organizing context, watching selected signals, and helping you move to the right next step. It is not a replacement for the official source of truth.
Where can I get help?
Use the Rope Drop Hero contact page for product questions, connection issues, visible error states, and help understanding an alert or watch. Include the feature, trip date, visible status, and the action you were trying to take, but never send a password, payment detail, MFA code, or CAPTCHA response.
For a Disney account, reservation, payment, ticket, or entitlement result, use Disney's official support channel as well. Rope Drop Hero cannot change a result that only Disney controls.
Contact Rope Drop HeroHow do I request privacy or data support?
Use the Rope Drop Hero privacy page for data access, correction, deletion, or questions about information Rope Drop Hero processes. Account deletion is a separate action from removing a Disney connection, so state clearly which one you want.
Do not send sensitive credentials or raw payment information by email or support form. Rope Drop Hero asks only for the minimum information needed to locate and respond to the request.
Review Rope Drop Hero privacyWhat is the relationship between Rope Drop Hero, Disney, and My Disney Experience?
Rope Drop Hero is an independent planning and park-day app for Walt Disney World guests. You choose the plan, party, targets, conditions, and permissions; Rope Drop Hero can create the plan, alert you when selected ride or dining conditions match, and handle eligible Lightning Lane booking or modifications when authorized.
Disney and My Disney Experience own the Disney account, tickets, payment, reservations, entitlements, eligibility, availability, security checks, and final confirmations. The standard boundary is simple: your trip stays yours, your password stays with you, and a notification is never presented as a Disney confirmation.
