Pizzafari Gives the Chicken-Tender Order a Baked Detour

Pizzafari’s new chicken-tender plate uses baked breading and comes with tangy sauce and kettle chips. The confirmed debut is limited to this Animal Kingdom restaurant.

Pizzafari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom added Baked Chicken Tenders on September 6, 2026. The $12.99 plate comes with tangy dipping sauce and kettle chips.

We’re more curious about the sauce than the promise implied by “baked.” WDWNT’s opening-day review found it different from the sauces accompanying chicken sandwiches at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café and Connections Eatery, with a pronounced tang and a little heat. A familiar order has acquired one detail that deserves a closer look.

The change is at Pizzafari on Discovery Island. It does not establish that fried tenders elsewhere in Walt Disney World are being replaced, or that another restaurant is serving this same plate.

The tenders still have a breaded coating. WDWNT described crispness outside and tender chicken inside, but its overall assessment was restrained. That gives us a useful boundary: the first review supports an alternative preparation, without supplying a reason to crown a new Animal Kingdom food favorite.

Kettle chips complete the plate. The source does not identify a confirmed chip brand, so there is no brand-specific claim to carry into the menu description.

“Baked” also isn’t enough information to call this a healthier meal or an allergy-friendly substitute. The report provides no nutritional comparison or preparation safeguards. What it confirms is the cooking distinction, the accompaniments, the $12.99 price, and a September 6 debut at Pizzafari.
