Both Sunshine Churros kiosks at Disney Springs are now permanently closed. MickeyVisit reported September 8 that the Marketplace and West Side stands ended service after September 5, taking the vendor’s full gourmet-churro menu with them.
And oh, this menu refused to be sensible in exactly the right way. Sunshine Churros took cinnamon sugar, added drizzle and dipping sauce, then let Grandma’s Homemade Apple Pie share a sign with Fruity Pebble Cereal. That is not restraint. That is vacation dessert wearing its sparkliest outfit.
Six flavors have left the board
WDW News Today’s final reported menu listed the classic cinnamon-sugar churro at $6.25 and the gourmet version at $7.99. The gourmet lineup included Dulce de Leche, Oreo Cheesecake, Grandma’s Homemade Apple Pie, Salted Caramel Delight, Fruity Pebble Cereal, and Strawberry Cheesecake.
For $1.74 more than the classic, guests got the drizzle-and-dipping-sauce production. Some Disney snacks politely support the itinerary. These were trying to become the itinerary.
The loss is bigger than one counter going dark. Sunshine Churros had one kiosk in Marketplace and another on the West Side, so the two locations covered opposite ends of Disney Springs. With both closures, there is no Sunshine Churros fallback across the complex.
No replacement has stepped into the spotlight
MickeyVisit did not report a reason for the closures, and neither kiosk has a named replacement. The sources do not state whether the existing structures will be reused or removed.
So for now, that wonderfully over-the-top six-flavor menu has taken its final bow, and the reporting does not identify what gets the next kiosk spotlight.
