Who is eligible
Disney Food Blog's current eligibility list includes Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club Resort, BoardWalk Inn, Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Polynesian Village Resort, Wilderness Lodge, and Yacht Club Resort. The list also includes Disney Vacation Club properties such as Bay Lake Tower, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, Riviera Resort, Saratoga Springs Resort, and the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Several non-Disney-operated properties are included as well: the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green on Walt Disney World Resort.
One boundary deserves special attention. The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort qualify only when they are the Disney Vacation Club Cabins; standard Fort Wilderness cabins do not receive this benefit. What this benefit is—and is not
Extended Evening Hours are different from Early Theme Park Entry. Early entry is available to guests at Disney Resort hotels and select other hotels each day before the parks open. Extended Evening Hours occur at one selected park on selected nights and serve a narrower set of eligible resorts.
Disney Food Blog reports that select attractions, merchandise locations, and food-and-beverage locations operate during the extended period. “Select” is the important word: not every venue or attraction is guaranteed to be open. Guests should check the My Disney Experience app on the day of their visit for the live operating list, posted hours, and any attraction changes.
The benefit can be useful even without an aggressive ride plan. An eligible guest might use the regular evening for dinner or a slower World Showcase walk, then decide how to use the final two hours once the current attraction availability is visible. That is a practical option, not a promise of low waits or a guarantee that a specific attraction will operate.
The August schedule continues
EPCOT is currently listed for additional Extended Evening Hours on August 10, 17, 24, and 31. Magic Kingdom is listed for August 5, 12, and 19, while Disney's Animal Kingdom is listed for August 26.
The August 26 Animal Kingdom date is particularly notable because it is scheduled from 6 PM to 8 PM, rather than late at night. Eligible guests visiting during that period should verify the final hours and available attractions closer to the date.
Operational watch
