The Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom's Frontierland is preparing to return to table-service dining this fall with a new limited-time menu. Disney has shared an early look at several items, but has not announced the reopening date, complete menu, or advance-reservation details.
The restaurant paused table-service dining on May 16 so it could host Jessie's Roundup during Cool KIDS' SUMMER. That Toy Story experience is scheduled to continue through September 8. Disney had already said dining would return in the fall; the new menu preview is the first clear look at what will change when the venue transitions back.
Key details
- Location: The Diamond Horseshoe, Frontierland, Magic Kingdom
- Return timing: Fall 2026; no exact reopening date announced
- Menu: A new limited-time menu, with more items still to be revealed
- Known food item: A shareable charcuterie board
- Known drinks: Enchanting Ember Lemonade and Cactus Rose Margarita
- Reservations: Details have not been announced
- Walk-ups: Disney says they will remain available
A different dining format is coming back
The early menu points to a different format than the restaurant's prior family-style meal. The announced charcuterie board includes cured beef, “fancy bacon,” smoked pork, green chile cheese, smoked cheddar, and pickles. Disney describes it as a shareable small plate.
The distinction matters for guests who knew The Diamond Horseshoe for its Thanksgiving-style dinner. Those items are moving next door to Liberty Tree Tavern for the season. This is not a simple reopening with the former menu restored; it is a limited-time menu change with a different kind of meal at the Frontierland location.
More small plates are expected, but they have not yet been announced. Guests should not assume the restaurant will offer a full replacement for the old all-you-care-to-enjoy meal until Disney releases the complete menu.
The first drinks have also been announced
The Enchanting Ember Lemonade combines Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, strawberry, and hot honey with a chili-lime rim. It is nonalcoholic. The Cactus Rose Margarita uses LALO Blanco Tequila, prickly pear, lime, and agave.
The two drinks give the preview both a family-friendly option and an adult cocktail, but the announcement does not say whether either will continue after the limited-time menu ends. They should be treated as part of the forthcoming return, not as permanent menu fixtures.
What guests should wait to confirm
“Fall” is still a broad opening window. Because Jessie's Roundup runs through September 8, guests visiting in September or early fall should not make dining plans that depend on The Diamond Horseshoe being open. Disney has not published a date for the changeover.
Reservation details are also pending. Walk-ups are expected to remain an option, but Disney has not said when advance reservations will open, whether they will follow a standard booking window, or how much inventory will be held for same-day guests.
The current summer change is still in effect
The restaurant's dining pause began May 16, before Jessie's Roundup started on May 26. The temporary experience runs through September 8, but that end date is not itself a published reopening date for The Diamond Horseshoe. There may be a transition period, and Disney has not said whether the new menu will begin immediately after the seasonal offering concludes.
That is why the fall timing should be handled as an active unknown rather than a calendar promise. A guest booking an early-September or early-fall trip can still use Frontierland dining plans, but should select Liberty Tree Tavern or another Magic Kingdom restaurant if a timed table-service meal is essential. The update confirms a return and gives a first menu preview; it does not yet supply the final date needed for a fixed reservation plan.
This update is most useful for two groups: guests who hoped to return for the former Thanksgiving dinner and guests interested in trying the new menu. The first group should look to Liberty Tree Tavern for those familiar dishes. The second should watch for a reopening date and full menu before locking in a Magic Kingdom dining plan.
Operational watch
The Diamond Horseshoe remains unavailable for table-service dining while Jessie's Roundup continues through September 8, 2026. The exact dining-return date is still unannounced.
